Product Description

Niwaki translates from Japanese to English as 'garden tree'. Niwaki's founder, Jake, travelled to Japan in the late 90s to explore the cherry blossoms there and draw inspiration from them, intending on a career as a sculptor. He was instead fascinated by the tools that were used to prune and shape the gardens of Japan, and his focus shifted towards bringing those to our western gardens, having spent a year working in a rural plant nursery near Osaka. Niwaki's tools are designed and made to last a lifetime, and have the highest functionality possible.

  • Japanese trowel, all-round weeder, bulb-planter extraordinaire, and general subterranean rummager.
  • Carbon steel blade runs right into the handle, making it tough and strong.
  • Brilliant for planting bulbs, weeding and all sorts of garden tasks.
  • Comes with a tough canvas sheath, or upgrade to the heavy duty Long Holster option for a perfect fit.

New tools won’t need sharpening immediately, but edges will gradually dull with use. For best results, sharpen regularly using a Niwaki Sharpening Stone - a 1000 grit stone is ideal for general maintenance.
