Niwaki Hori Hori + Canvas Holster

The Hori Hori is a favourite amongst hard working gardeners. The steel blade plummets straight down into the earth to dig large holes for bulbs, or makes for a fantastic weeding tool. Its especially great in courtyard gardens as an all-rounder, as the blade is thin enough to get between paving slabs, but do be careful not to try and cut any very hard materials as this can damage the blade. The blade runs all the way into the wooden handle, so it is incredibly strong, but do make sure to not twist or lever too forcefully, as they are two separate parts. 

Take care of your Hori Hori with a stone and camelia oil. 

The Hori Hori can only be sold to those over 18, and comes with either a canvas sheath or a leather holster, never without.

Niwaki translates from Japanese to English as 'garden tree'. Niwaki's founder, Jake, travelled to Japan in the late 90s to explore the cherry blossoms there and draw inspiration from them, intending on a career as a sculptor. He was instead fascinated by the tools that were used to prune and shape the gardens of Japan, and his focus shifted towards bringing those to our western gardens, having spent a year working in a rural plant nursery near Osaka. Niwaki's tools are designed and made to last a lifetime, and have the highest functionality possible.
