Maileg - Big Brother Mouse in Matchbox
As children become more and more accustomed to digital entertainment, its refreshing and heartwarming to come across toys that let their imaginations run wild. Maileg's intricately designed world is rooted in fairytale and whimsy, with princesses and peas, and bunnies that wear clothes. Founder Dorthe Mailil, a Danish designer and illustrator, and her husband Erik founded Maileg in1999, to create a world of creatures that all get along, even cats and mice, and that can be collected and cherished for generations to come.
At just 13 cm this sweet mouse has a long thin leather mouse tail, stitched features and is wearing stripy blue and white pyjamas. He has his own little bed in a matchbox with a comfortable padded mattress, patterned padded pillow and a blue and white checked blanket to keep him nice and warm.

hortus was initially created as a shop window for our garden design and construction services, whilst also allowing us to indulge our passion for beautifully designed products. Independently owned by Julia Keen and Brian Hamilton, hortus is now established as one of the finest gardening stores in the country.
