The non-aggressive solitary bee's population is in decline, with their homes threatened and their food being destroyed, and these bees are essential for pollination and for our ecosystem. That's where Green&Blue's Bee Brick can help. Place your brick in a warm sunny spot, making sure there's nothing in front of the little holes. It will need to be a metre off the ground with no upper limitations. This brick is ideal for someone with plenty of plants that attract pollinators, and a love for nature too. The bees will soon find refuge in the small holes of the brick!
Kate and Gavin are the creative minds behind Green&Blue. In 2005 they left their jobs at Dyson to start their own company in Cornwall, having spent years designing in their spare time. Starting with the Birdball, they have gone on to design and make a multitude of products that help the world around us. They really do 'design the way nature intended'.

Our Story
hortus was initially created as a shop window for our garden design and construction services, whilst also allowing us to indulge our passion for beautifully designed products. Independently owned by Julia Keen and Brian Hamilton, hortus is now established as one of the finest gardening stores in the country.

In our bricks and mortar store, we also stock indoor and outdoor plants, as well as a weekly fresh cut flower offering.
